Atlanta, United States of America

Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Computer Science (BS, 4 years)

Grade de Master (Bac +5)|3 à 5 ans

Admissions

Acceptance rate of 12.7% for the class of 2029, but 30% for Georgia residents against 9% for others, a foreign candidate falling into the second category. Those admitted scored between 1430 and 1540 on the SAT for the median half. Roughly 60% of those admitted were Georgia residents, 40% came from other states and close to 10% from abroad. Test-optional for 2025-2026. An international candidate submits an English test and falls under the F-1 visa. The financial rule must be known before applying: international students are eligible neither for federal nor for state aid, and institutional scholarships are most often not awarded to them.

Who it is for

The student aiming at the 3rd engineering programme in the United States and the first nationally in industrial and systems engineering. The College of Engineering has eight departments, from aerospace to nuclear. The cooperative education programme, founded in 1912, one of the oldest in the country, allows students to complete three semesters of paid work with partner employers alternating with academic semesters: roughly a third of students take part, at Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Delta Air Lines, Intel or Microsoft.

Fees

$34,484 a year in tuition for non-residents and international students in 2024-2025, against $12,058 for Georgia residents, for a total cost of attendance of roughly $56,000 in 2025-2026. The 71% of aided students and the average of $12,022 the institution publishes describe a mainly Georgian population, eligible for the HOPE and Zell Miller state scholarships from which a foreign student is excluded. One arrangement nonetheless exists and deserves to be known: the out-of-country tuition waiver, which brings the non-resident rate down to the resident rate. It is not a scholarship but a relief measure, reserved for students already enrolled on an F-1 visa for at least two semesters, in documented unforeseen financial difficulty, and awarded to a limited number. The 2026-2027 calendar is published: applications from 11 May to 8 June 2026 for the autumn semester.

Careers

Average starting salary of $77,567 across all graduates, with $126,370 in computer science and $78,729 in engineering. The salaries of graduates who took part in the cooperative education programme consistently exceed those of graduates from comparable institutions without that experience. Three years of Optional Practical Training under the STEM fields.

Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS)

Grade de Master (Bac +5)|3 à 5 ans

Admissions

Admission is on the strength of the file, with no requirement of physical presence or visa, which removes every consular obstacle. A working professional can follow the course from Abidjan, Dakar or Douala while keeping their job. The academic prerequisites and deadlines are published by the College of Computing and differ from those of the on-campus course.

Who it is for

This is the most open door in the whole American series. The programme, launched in 2014, awards exactly the same Master of Science in Computer Science as the on-campus course of a university ranked in the national top ten in computer science, entirely online, with no US residence requirement. It takes in roughly 10,000 active students from more than 120 countries, which makes it the largest computer science master's programme in the world.

Fees

Roughly $7,000 for the whole course, ten times less than an equivalent on-campus master's at a major private university, and close to ten times less than the $59,100 a year of a Carnegie Mellon master's. No living, visa or travel costs are added, since the course is followed remotely. For a French-speaking candidate whose financial or geographical situation closes the other routes, it is the only top-rank American qualification accessible in this series.

Careers

The qualification awarded is identical to that of the on-campus course and carries no distinguishing mention. It opens roles in software engineering, data science and systems architecture. One reservation must be stated: followed from abroad, it does not open Optional Practical Training, which requires a period of study on US soil.

Research Master's Degrees and Doctorate

Grade de Master (Bac +5)|3 à 5 ans

Admissions

Each school runs its own applications, criteria and deadlines. Residence status determines the rate applied, as at bachelor's level: Georgia resident, US non-resident and foreign student fall under three distinct scales. An international candidate submits an English test.

Who it is for

The graduate seeking advanced technical specialisation or research training on the Atlanta campus. The master's course runs one to two years and combines advanced coursework with laboratory work, with or without a dissertation according to the department.

Fees

Research master's degrees are charged on the graduate scale, appreciably higher for non-residents. One rule particular to the Georgia university system deserves to be known and has no equivalent elsewhere in this series: students recruited as research or teaching assistants pay only $25 in tuition, to which compulsory fees are added. For a master's student that is a rare mechanism, provided a post is obtained: it turns a fee-paying course into a nearly free one, where Caltech and Carnegie Mellon do not fund their master's students at all. The doctorate is fully funded for students admitted to a research programme, with fees covered and a monthly stipend of the order of $2,200 to $3,200 according to the department.

Careers

Graduates join the aerospace, automotive, energy and software industries, strongly present in Atlanta and the south-east, or continue to a doctorate. The campus is surrounded by the headquarters of Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, Warner Bros. Discovery, NCR and Equifax. Three years of Optional Practical Training under the STEM fields.
